At present, there are only five schemes which predominantly invest in manufacturing stocks viz. Axis India Manufacturing Fund-Reg(G), Canara Robeco Manufacturing Fund-Reg(G), ICICI Pru Manufacturing Fund(G), Kotak Manufacture in India Fund-Reg(G), Quant Manufacturing Fund-Reg(G). An analysis of 76 stocks in the Nifty Manufacturing Index gives us the indication as to which way the wind has blown. Nine stocks have delivered multibagger returns over a 1-year period with the top position taken by PSU Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (179%), followed by Dixon Technologies (147%) and Lupin (138%). Tata Motors, Hindustan Aeronautics, Bajaj Auto, Indian Oil Corporation, Aurobindo Pharma and Hindustan Copper have delivered returns between 111% and 137% during this time.
