At present, there are only five schemes which predominantly invest in manufacturing stocks viz. Axis India Manufacturing Fund-Reg(G), Canara Robeco Manufacturing Fund-Reg(G), ICICI Pru Manufacturing Fund(G), Kotak Manufacture in India Fund-Reg(G), Quant Manufacturing Fund-Reg(G). ICICI Pru is the oldest in the pack while HDFC's NFO is ongoing

An analysis of 76 stocks in the Nifty Manufacturing Index gives us the indication as to which way the wind has blown. Nine stocks have delivered multibagger returns over a 1-year period with the top position taken by PSU Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (179%), followed by Dixon Technologies (147%) and Lupin (138%). Tata Motors, Hindustan Aeronautics, Bajaj Auto, Indian Oil Corporation, Aurobindo Pharma and Hindustan Copper have delivered returns between 111% and 137% during this time.

Nearly three dozen stocks have given returns higher than Nifty 50 (23%)
